Trex Deck, Gazebo, Westbury Railing and Fence Build Wrapped

This one had a lot of moving parts - and we love a job like that. The homeowner wanted a backyard that actually worked for their family. Comfortable outdoor space, real privacy, and something that wouldn't demand constant upkeep. So we got to work building all of it from the ground up.

We started with the deck framing, getting the pressure-treated joists leveled and spaced correctly before a single Trex board went down. That foundation work matters more than most people realize. If the framing isn't solid and level, the composite decking won't sit right and you'll have problems down the road. We use a joist tape barrier along every framing member to protect the wood from moisture - a small detail that extends the life of the whole structure significantly.

Once the Trex went down in that rich dark brown tone, we moved on to the covered gazebo structure. The pressure-treated posts and beam framing give it real bones - this isn't a kit gazebo bolted together on a weekend. The Westbury aluminum railing in matte black ties the whole deck perimeter together cleanly, and it pairs really well with the warm tones of the composite decking. No painting, no staining, no annual maintenance headaches.

The privacy fence panels were built right into the gazebo structure on two sides, giving the space a closed-in, room-like feel without making it feel dark or cramped. Fresh cedar boards, tightly installed, block the sightlines completely. On the yard perimeter, we ran black chain link with a trailer gate - practical, clean, and consistent with the black hardware theme running through the whole build.

What we ended up with is a backyard that genuinely has it all. Covered outdoor living space, privacy from neighbors, a defined yard perimeter, and materials that will hold up for years without much fuss. This is the kind of build that gets used every single day.
